Waterproofing

Some fabrics are fragile and easily pull, so it's important that you store your fabric shoes away from things that will catch and potentially damage the fabric.

Waterproofing

All Pip Hold fabric shoes are made with a leather lining - providing comfort and breath-ability when you wear them, and come already waterproofed and stain repellent sprayed. Re-applying every 12 months is recommended.

Soles and heel tips must be kept in good condition.  Replace both well before they wear completely down. Once the tip or sole is completely worn irreparable damage may be caused to the shoe, making them not only look unattractive, but also no longer nice to wear.

Make sure you go to a reputable shoe repairer. It's a small investment to make on such a special pair of shoes!

Usually a soft brush (nylon or natural fibre) will assist in brushing off any dirt or mark.  Depending on the fabric, a damp cloth may remove harder stains. Some use sparkling or soda water to lift the stain but we advise you to research stain removal methods specific for the type of fabric your shoe is made of before committing to any method. Remember to try your chosen method on a lesser seen part of the shoe to test first.

Wet

Do not put your shoes in the dryer. Blot wet shoes with a neutral coloured towel / or other appropriate cloth so as not to transfer colour from the cloth to the shoe.

Allow shoes to dry in a room temperature environment with good (but not direct) airflow.

An ambient fan may assist in the drying process but direct heat is not recommended.

As Pip Hold fabric shoes have a leather lining

you can fill the shoe (but not too tightly so as not to stretch it) with paper towel to assist in the drying process.
